Advocacy 101 - How to do it right
The ability to effectively advocate on behalf of issues and constituents is a characteristic of high-impact nonprofit organizations. Organizations that connect with and inspire clients and donors need to be equally comfortable and competent in connecting with legislators and forming strong networks to better attain their goals. Most nonprofit organizations believe they should be doing more in this arena but allow lack of skills or knowledge and/or concerns about engaging in politics to hold them back. This full-day workshop focuses on key areas that will help nonprofit leaders achieve the full potential of advocacy work for their organizations, clients and communities. In addition to new insights and learning, the session is designed to help participants form networks with peers for the ongoing exchange of information and mutual support.
